Glow Run will help Ellis family offset medical costs

ELLIS — A benefit to help an Ellis family cope with the financial burden of a medical issues is scheduled for later this month.

The 1.6-mile Glow Run will begin at 8 p.m. April 26 (registration starts art 7 p.m.) at Ellis High School, with the race finishing at Chrysler Park.

The $5 race fee — $15 for a family — will help the family of Kelly Beisner, Ellis residents since 2008. All proceeds will be given to the family to help with medical costs and travel expenses.

Organizers said Beisner, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2004, will be undergoing a series of surgeries beginning this month.

“The family has a long road ahead of them,” race organizers said. “It will be emotionally and financially taxing.”

A Glow Dance will follow the race for a freewill donation, and there will be a raffle and freewill donation obstacle course available.
