HILLSBORO–A Marion man was killed in a Monday morning crash.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Gary J. Alleven, 46, Marion, was driving a 2012 Ford Fiesta west bound on U56 1.2 miles east of Hillsboro. The vehicle rear-ended the trailer of a semi truck that had pulled onto U56 from Santa Fe Street.

Alleven died at the scene.

The truck driver, Samuel B. Unruh, 25, Canton was not injured.

The KHP reported Alleven was properly restrained.
