Dianna Folland, 62, Hays, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the Hays Good Samaritan Society.
She was born June 3, 1951, in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard Paul and Kathryn Naomi (Davis) Thompson. On September 19, 1992, she married Doug Folland in Ulysses. She was a kindergarten teacher for 24 years at Sullivan Elementary School in Ulysses and was a member of the Celebration Community Church, Hays. She loved flowers, working in the yard, and the color purple, loved to sing, decorate and cook and enjoyed leading her church vacation bible school. Family was of the utmost importance to her and she loved spending time with them, caring for them, and pampering them at every opportunity.
Survivors include her husband, of the home in Hays, a daughter Jenny Dixon and fiancé Joe Leiker of Hays, step son Jamison Folland and wife Phuong Hau of Minneapolis, MN, step daughter Betsy Leeuwner and husband Martin of Scottsdale, AZ, brother Tom Thompson and wife Lynn of Wichita, two sisters, Karen McIntyre and husband Steve of Jewell, KS, and Linda Lamberson of Ulysses, three grandchildren, Parker Dixon of Hays and Adi and Gracie Leeuwner of Scottsdale, AZ.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Kathy Brewer and Iyla Lee Thompson, a brother Richard Thompson, and a brother in law Arcine Lamberson.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Celebration Community Church, Hays with Pastor Kyle Ermoian and Pastor Brant Rice officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Wednesday at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, and from 3:00 until service time on Thursday at the church.
