HUTCHINSON — A 25-year-old Turon man jailed on April 2 after an domestic altercation was back in a Reno County court Wednesday for a hearing — and now faces a more serious charge.

Tyler Truhlar was charged with attempted second-degree murder, or an alternative charge of aggravated battery. He faces 55 to 257 months in prison on the attempted murder charge.

Truhlar is accused of kicking in the front door of the female victim and punching her several times. The victim said he also choked her, kicked her in the ribs and slammed the left side of her head into the pavement several times, according to reports.

Truhlar is free on a $6,750 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 6.
