Harold F. Gross

Harold F. Gross, age 80, died Friday, April 11, 2014, at Via Christi Village Care Center, Hays, Kansas.

He was born January 10, 1934, in Munjor, Kansas, to Joseph J. and Rose (Pfannenstiel) Gross.
He married Viola (Riedel) on August 25, 1956, in St. Peter, Kansas.

He was a truck driver for Graves Truck Lines in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for over 30 years and retired in 1994.  He grew up in Munjor, Kansas, and was a graduate of Hays High School. He worked for R C Williams Trucking in Hays, Kansas, then lived in Salina, Kansas, for a few years and then lived in Oklahoma City, Okla., for over 40 years. He moved to St. John’s/Via Christi Village in 2010. He was a member of the St. Eugene’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was a avid golfer and had three “Holes in One” in his lifetime. He enjoyed his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons, Galyn Gross and companion Brenda Allen, Victor, Idaho; Jeff Gross and wife, Kristi, Lanc Gross and wife, Beth, Tracey Gross and fiancé, April Nickell, all of Oklahoma City, OK; three brothers, Vernon Gross and wife, Jeannie, Hays, KS; Jerry Gross and wife, Sylvia,  Les Gross and wife, Linda, both of Munjor, KS; four sisters, JoAnn Dreiling and husband, Norman,  Geraldine Kindal and husband, Don, Both of Victoria, KS; Kay Von Lintel and husband Dennis, Vincent, KS; Mary Anderson and husband, Troy, Piedmont, OK; six grandchildren, KaLynne Gross, Anthony Ramsey, Colin Gross, Cade Gross, Olivia Gross and Jack Gross.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Leon Gross and Kenny Gross; one sister, Patricia “Patty” Dreiling; two brothers-in-law, Cletus Brungardt and Verlin “Vernie” Dreiling; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Gross.

Services are 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 14, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Munjor, Kansas. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Munjor, Kansas.

A Knights of Columbus rosary is at 6:30 P.M. Sunday, followed by a vigil service at 7:00 P.M.
Sunday, both at Cline’s Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas  67601.

Visitation is from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, and from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. Monday, all at Cline’s Mortuary of Hays.
