GREAT BEND -An early morning fire at Camp Aldrich is under investigation after camp staff reported the fire early Saturday morning. No injuries were reported in the blaze that took place in the dining hall of the Conference Center.

The cause is under investigation, and a damage estimate has yet to be determined. Officials are now saying the dining hall is a complete loss.

The facility was set to host a wedding on Saturday afternoon and had been fully decorated for the event that will now not happen.

Camp Aldrich is owned by Barton Community College and hosts many events including Camp Hope, a summer camp for kids fighting cancer. It is also scheduled to host the 2014 Barton Foundation Clay Shoot on May 4th, a large fund raiser for the BCC Foundation.

Camp Aldrich is located Northeast of Great Bend just East of Cheyenne Bottoms.
