LENEXA-A Kansas man remains hospitalized from injuries he suffered when he was hit by an SUV Friday night on K-10.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Eric P. Martin, 41, Gardner was hit by a Toyota Rav4.

The driver of the Toyota Carol J. Moore, 59, Topeka was attempting to avoid hitting a disabled Jeep in the outside lane of westbound K-10. She sideswiped the Jeep and hit Martin.

He was helping a teenage driver.  Her Jeep had broken down. Martin was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with critical injuries.

There were no other injuries reported.
