McPherson–A Kansas man was injured when he was struck by a car on an icy bridge in Saline County on Monday at 4:02 a.m.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Joel P. Longbine, 47, Sedgwick was assisting a legally parked 2004 Yamaha V Star on I-135 one mile north of the Saline McPherson county line.

Due to icy conditions Longbine was hit by a 2008 Chevy Impala driven by Samantha K. Gaylor, 23, McPherson.

Longbine was transported to McPherson County Health Center and then to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Gaylor and 2 passengers in the Impala were not injured.
