Fort Hays State men’s golf sits in eighth after the first round of the Embassy Suites Invtational, hosted by Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. The tournament is being played at the Whitmoor Country Club. FHSU is one of six MIAA schools competing in the tournament.

Trey Herman led the Tigers on day one by shooting 82. Grand Storey and Nick VonLintel are both a stroke back of Herman after shooting 83. Jeff Heptig shot 88 and Sam Christianson shot 95. The Tigers had a team score of 336.

Central Oklahoma leads the way as a team after a score of 306. The Bronchos are 10 strokes ahead of tournament host Lindenwood. Greg MacAulay of Lindenwood leads the way as he was the only player under par in the opening round. He shot a 3-under 69. He has a five-shot lead going into the second day.
