The Hays Public Library will present Thomas Fox Averill for for a book discussion and signing of his latest work, “rode,” in the Schmidt Gallery at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Averill is a professor at Washburn University in Topeka where he teaches creative writing, Kansas literature, and folklore and film.

He previously wrote “Secrets of Tsil Cafe,” “The Slow Air of Ewan Macpherson” and “Ordinary Genious.” He also has written many articles, poems and short stories.
