Chance of rain for Easter Sunday

FileMost of the area is expected to remain dry this morning, but as the afternoon and evening wears on, showers and thunderstorms may become increasingly numerous.

The areas that do see rain can expect to receive at least a few tenths of an inch before this low pressure system moves out of the area overnight.

Temperatures today will reach 75 with an overnight low of 55.  Dry and breezy conditions are expected on both Monday and Tuesday with highs in the 70s. The next low pressure system brings a chance for thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Today: A slight chance of showers before 1pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1pm and 4pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. South wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 9pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 9pm and 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. South wind 6 to 11 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Breezy, with a north wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 16 to 21 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. North northeast wind 5 to 13 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 79. Breezy, with an east wind 6 to 11 mph becoming south 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph.
