The Humane Society of the High Plains will hold its annual meeting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Virginia Miller Animal Shelter.
After a short presentation on a summary of the events of 2013, elections will take place. The slate is as follows: new board members, Heather Holliman-Pope, DVM, and Wayne Aschwege, second terms; Jackie Fleming and Donna Augustine, first term; Dayna Schmidt, president; Abbie Bainter, vice president; Tobi Neuburger, secretary; and Wayne Aschwege, treasurer.
Patty Currey and Virginia Clapp will be leaving the board for the advisory board. Carmen Winters and Carolyn Fuller will be joining the advisory board. Refreshments will be served.
Only current members will be allowed to vote. Renewal and new memberships may be sent to the HSHP, P.O. Box 311, Hays, KS 67601. Membership levels are $15 single, $30 family, $100 patron/business, $250 cage sponsor and $500 benefactor.
The shelter is 2050 E. Old Highway 40, but because of road construction, members will need to detour to 13th Street east to Toulon Road and turn South to Old Highway 40.
