UPDATE 4 p.m.  Ottawa County authorities say Tuesday’s lockdown was prompted by a the search for a suicidal suspect.  He is now in custody. No additional details have been released.

MINNEAPOLIS, Kan. — The schools in Minneapolis and the hospital were on lockdown Tuesday afternoon at the request of law enforcement officials.

An individual at Minneapolis High School confirmed the schools had been on lockdown from 12:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

The hospital is again accepting patients.
