The Hays High baseball team snapped their three-game losing streak with a doubleheader sweep at home against Garden City Tuesday. Layne Downing, scattered eight hits while striking out eight and the Indians took advantage of three Buffaloes errors in a 5-0 win in game one. Kade Parker threw his second no-hitter of the season, striking out nine, in the 7-0 victory in game two.
Marcus Altman had six hits in the doubleheader including four hits in the second game. Connor Rule drove in two in the opener and Cole Schumacher knocked in two in game two.
The Indians are now 5-5 and 3-1 in the Western Athletic Conference. They host Pratt in a makeup doubleheader on Thursday.
