TOPEKA — Gov. Sam Brownback has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff from sun-up to sun-down throughout the state of Kansas on Friday in honor of former State Representative Don Dahl.

A celebration of Dahl’s life will be held April 25 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.  He died April 18.

“Don Dahl’s entire career was dedicated to service to this nation and to our state,” Brownback said. “His lifelong legacy is one of commitment to his country and to his friends and family. The Lt. Governor and I extend our deepest sympathies to his family and will keep them in our prayers.”

Dahl served in the House from 1997 through 2008, spending his last two years as speaker pro-tem, and was a member of the Kansas Supreme Court Nominating Commission.
