Gillium and Spresser commit to FHSU

The Fort Hays State men’s basketball program has has added two local standouts to their roster for the 2014-15 season.

The Tigers announced on Twitter Thursday that Plainville’s Hadley Gillium and Hoxie’s Kade Spresser have committed to play at FHSU.

Gillium, a 6’5″ forward, averaged 21 points and 14.5 rebounds this past season leading the Cardinals to a runner-up finish at the class 2A state tournament in Manhattan.

Spresser, a 6’1″ guard, led the Indians to a runner-up finished at the 1A-Division 1 state tournament this past season, averaging 20.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.

The two join Dom Samac who is transferring to Fort Hays State after two seasons at Denver University. The 6’9″ forward from Zagreb, Croatia will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Samac played in 17 games, making 11 starts for the Pioneers, averaging 3.5 points and 1.5 rebounds in 2013-14. He appeared in six games as a freshman.
