McPHERSON — McPherson Police on Sunday afternoon took a woman into protective custody late Sunday afternoon after she had barricaded herself in a home. The incident caused a lockdown at McPherson College.

According to the McPherson Police Department, the woman, who was believed to be suicidal, was taken into custody for treatment and care about 5:15 p.m. without incident.

The college was placed on lockdown because of the proximity to the situation.

Students were asked to stay in their rooms and not to leave campus. The incident began a little after 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
