The storm prediction center has issued a slight risk of severe thunderstorms for this afternoon and evening. Hail to golf ball and baseball size are expected with the strongest storms, along with damaging winds.

Storms are expected to develop around 3 pm along and ahead of a surface dryline, a boundary separating moist air to the east from dry air to the west. These storms will then become more numerous later this afternoon and evening and progress across the remainder of southwestern and central Kansas.
Today: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Windy, with a south wind 11 to 16 mph increasing to 24 to 29 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph.
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2am. Some storms could be severe, with heavy rain and frequent lightning. Low around 62. Breezy, with a south southeast wind 17 to 22 mph becoming east southeast 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday: Cloudy, then gradual clearing during the afternoon, with a high near 85. Northeast wind 7 to 11 mph becoming south southeast.
Monday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind 5 to 8 mph.
Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 96. Very windy, with a south wind 8 to 18 mph increasing to 23 to 38 mph in the afternoon.
