Arrest made, other suspects sought in Great Bend stabbing

GREAT BEND — Just after 1 a.m. Saturday, Great Bend Police officers were dispatched to 327 Frey in Great Bend in reference to a disturbance.

Upon arrival two victims were found. Manuel Rivera-Martinez, 33, had been stabbed in the chest and stomach. He was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital and later transferred to Via Christi in Wichita.

Enrique Lira had head injuries from being hit in the head with a bat. He was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital where he was treated and released.

Abel Rivera-Martinez, 25, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery.

Other suspects are still at large, and anyone with any information is asked to call the Great Bend Police Department at (620) 793-4120.
