CLAY CENTER- A child died in an accident on Monday night in Clay County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Chevy Tahoe driven by Peggy A Ward, 58, Clay Center, was backed into a parking spot at A Street and West Crawford in the Huntress Park ball field parking lot in Clay Center

When the vehicle was leaving the parking lot it struck Kael Dame, 1, Clay Center.

The child was taken to Clay County Medical Center where he was pronounced dead just before 9:30 p.m.
