While promises of heavy rain weren’t realized Friday night, another dose of much-needed rainfall was awaiting Saturday morning gauge-checkers.
Reports in most of Hays and Ellis County ranged from 0.2 to 0.32 inches of rain, although an official report from northwest Ellis County showed 0.59 inches.
Hays received an official 0.25 of an inch of rain as recorded at the K-State Agricultural Research Center.
Similar showers fell over much of the surrounding counties, as well, with eastern Russell County reporting up to 0.48 inches, and a half-inch report from southwest Trego County.
The National Weather Service says there is a chance of additional rain through the weekend.
