Michael F. Schwarzenberger, age 96, of Denver (formerly of Collyer), passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Swedish Medical Center, in Englewood, Colorado. He was born December 23, 1917, in Collyer, the son of Michael and Lugartha (Uhrich) Schwarzenberger.
On August 22, 1939, Mike was united in marriage to Ida Marie Heier in Park. Mike was spent most of his working life as a farmer and a mechanic. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, holding the fourth degree. He is survived by four sons, Don and wife Mary of Sahuarita, AZ, John and wife Cindy of Centennial, CO, Richard of San Francisco, CA, and Martin and wife Leslie Champlin of Overland Park; four daughters Sister Francine Schwarzenberger of Denver, CO, Sister Rita Schwarzenberger of Kaduna, Nigeria, Mary and husband Mike Segawa of Olympia, WA, and Serena and husband Mike Billmayer of Arvada, CO; seven grandchildren; and a brother Joe of Olathe. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ida; brother Michael; sisters Mary, Pauline, Sr. Michael O.P., and Magdalen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Collyer. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Quinter. There will be a parish vigil service immediately following at 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
