GREAT BEND—An investigation into the cause of a fatal plane crash is underway in Barton County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the small, single engine plane had only two people on board. They were identified as Roger Brining, 49, Great Bend and Daniel Bishop, 29, Clearfield Utah. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred about 11:30 a.m. four miles west of Great Bend near Northwest 40th Road and Northwest 30th Avenue.
