
UPDATE: Hays Post has received several reports of flooded streets at low points.
Although Hays missed an overnight front that brought significant rainfall to the area, overnight reports show as much as 1.75 inches of rain fell overnight in the western portion of Ellis County. That in addition to the morning rain shower that looks to last through the morning. Hays Post will have updated rainfall totals from today’s storm as they become available.
Area of Trego County received about an inch of rain, while there was an official report of 2.12 inches of rain in western Rooks County.
The heaviest overnight rainfall in northwest Kansas was reported in central Rawlins County, which received 2.2 inches.
A flood watch is in effect today, including Cedar Bluff Reservoir, WaKeeney, Ellis and Hays.
