Ellis Riverfest skydiving event postponed due to wind (UPDATE)

fast track skydiving team — Saturday’s Team FASTRAX skydiving event postponed due to forecasts of high winds.

ELLIS — The skydiving performance by TEAM FASTRAX Friday in Ellis and Saturday in WaKeeney has been canceled.

One of the event coordinators, Ellis Police Chief Taft Yates, said Friday morning the decision was made because of the high wind of 35 mph and more projected for Friday and Saturday.

“We don’t want to get anybody hurt,” Yates said.

Organizers hope to reschedule the event within two to three weeks, he added.
