GLENN ELDER, Kan-  A Kansas woman died in a Friday afternoon accident in Mitchell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2002 GMC pickup driven by Lola R. Hillman, 93, Beloit, was westbound on U.S. 24 four miles west of Glenn Elder.

The truck crossed the centerline and struck a trailer that was being pulled by a 2008 GMC pickup driven by Michael John Horky, 47, Kensington.

The trailer detached and came to rest on the south shoulder.

Hillman was transported to Salina Regional Health Center where she died.

Horky was not injured.

The KHP reported both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
