The Hays Larks raced out to a 7-0 lead then had to rally after Liberal pulled within two runs, as they bounce back from their first loss of the season with a 13-6 victory Thursday night at Larks Park.

Jake Fromson worked out of a bases-loaded no-out jam in the top of the first without giving up a run. The Larks then score five in the third and add single runs in the fourth and fifth to go up 7-0.
Game Highlights
The Bee Jays took advantage of a two-out error to score five unearned runs in the sixth. The Larks answer with three in the bottom of the inning highlighted by Cooper Langley’s two-run homer. Hays then adds a run in the seventh and two in the eighth to push the lead to eight runs.
Fromson (2-0) picks up the win, allowing five unearned runs on 10 hits, striking out eight and walking none.
Tanner DeVinny had three of the Larks season-high 20 hits, driving in four and scoring a run. Michael Burns and Tyler Leffler also had three hits.
The Larks continue their homestand Friday night with the first of three against Wellington. The Heat moved to 11-0 overall and 5-0 in the Jayhawk League with a 2-1 win over Derby Thursday. Free admission for the 7pm game courtesy of the Sunflower Bank and Nex-Tech Wireless. It’s also First Responders night with all area police officers, fire fighters and EMT’s encouraged to attend.
