CLIFTON, Kan- A woman was injured in a Washington County accident on Friday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1996 Chevy S-10 driven by Linda A. Lyon, 66, Clifton, was eastbound on Kansas 9 six miles east of Clifton.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and it went off the road to the right. The driver over corrected, and then went off the road to the left and struck a sign. The vehicle came to rest in a field on the north side of the roadway.

Lyon was transported to Clay County Hospital. A 12-year old passenger in the vehicle was not injured.

The KHP reported both were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
