The Ellis County Commission will discuss the current ban on fireworks in Ellis County at the commission meeting Monday evening.

Last year, the commission passed a resolution banning the sale and discharge of fireworks in rural Ellis County until it deems the drought conditions have approved.

In his memo to the commissioners, Ellis County Administrator Greg Sund said Rural Fire Chief Dick Klaus is not in favor of repealing the ban.

• The commission will also discuss temporary office location for courthouse and law enforcement center staff during construction.

• The commission will discuss the possibility of applying for a historic designation for the County Courthouse.

• Five groups will come before the commission to requests for the 2015 budget as the commission continues the budget process.

The commission meeting will begin at 5 p.m. Monday at the courthouse.
