The Ellis County Sheriff’s Department is investigating what appears to be string of “criminal damage to property” reports south of Walker.

According to Ellis County Sheriff Ed Harbin,  the incidents may have occurred Friday night.

A resident reported hearing what sounded like “a loud truck” on his property at around 9:45 p.m. Friday night.

The same resident awoke the next morning to find his mailbox “destroyed” as it was knocked down and the lid torn off.

Two other Walker residents reported finding similar damage to their mailboxes Saturday as well.
