Nearly 130 kids from the region attended the 10th annual “OK Kids Day” at Cedar Bluff State Park Saturday.
The day is hosted by the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism and the Kansas Wildscape Foundation.
Department staff also provided older kids with ammunition instruction and firearm safety before using the KDWPT trap shooting machine.
Cedar Bluff State Park Manager Chris Smith said the the day is free and “gets the kids and families outdoors in a healthy environment. The event helps introduce families to what the Cedar Bluff Park is all about.”
Smith said Cole Feldt, 10, WaKeeney, won the fishing tournament by catching
a 2 1/2 pound channel catfish.
