Sheridan Co. EMS director reappointed to statewide board

TOPEKA — Gov. Sam Brownback last week announced appointments to boards and commissions.

Deborah Kaufman, Hoxie, was reappointed to serve a four-year term on the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services.

Kaufman earned her bachelor’s degree at Friends University in Wichita, and she serves as Sheridan County EMS director.

The KBEMS ensures quality out-of-hospital care is available throughout Kansas. It regulates all emergency medical services and providers in the state of Kansas in compliance with the Emergency Medical Act. The board has 13 members, each serving a four-year term. Nine members are appointed by the governor and four are appointed by legislative leadership.
