With the approval of personnel transactions at Monday nights, Hays USD 489 Board of Education meeting, members voted to terminate employment for longtime supervisor of grounds and maintenance Francis Hammerschmidt.
The move is effective June 30.
In the same procedural transactions vote, the board voted to hire Rusty Lindsay to the position of director of buildings and grounds, a newly created position.
