Grand opening for golf course pub will be Saturday

The Bad Bull Public House will hold its grand opening Saturday at Rooks County Golf Course.

The Hays-based band Paramount will play from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. with no cover charge. There will be free “party bus” transportation from hotels in Plainville and Stockton. Beer and pulled pork sandwiches will be available, each for $1.

The Bad Bull Public House is styled after pubs found in the British Isles, and will have darts, pub-grub, games, a jukebox and a dozen beers on tap. There also is an Area Sports Wall of Fame featuring outstanding area athletes.

The Bad Bull will be an addition to the existing steakhouse and restaurant at Rooks County Golf Course.

The course was made a public facility last year after it was purchased by businessman Joe Hambright, a Rooks County native with interests in Kansas and Colorado. The Bad Bull is the first of many changes planned.

The course is located 4 miles north of Plainville and 8 miles south of Stockton.
