The Hays Eagles Senior American Legion win their opener at the South Plains Classic in Oklahoma City, defeating the Wichita Sluggers Red 5-3.

Marcus Altman picks up the win as they improve to 12-5 on the season.

The Eagles continue pool play with a game today and two tomorrow before the start of bracket play on Saturday.

The Hays Monarchs doubleheader in Pratt was cancelled due to wet grounds. They don’t play again until July 2nd when they host Ellis in a doubleheader at the TMP Field.
