Trooper Tod Hileman, spokesman for the Kansas Highway Patrol, reported that during a routine Friday afternoon stop for a traffic violation on Interstate 70, officers discovered a large amount of meth and cocaine.

The stop occurred in the eastbound lane just east of Exit 159 in Hays.

The suspect, driving a car with a tag from Missouri and carrying a Nevada driver’s license, was arrested and booked into the Ellis County jail.

Hileman said an investigation in the case continues.
