Western Kansas bracing for another round of thunderstorms

weather062714

The skies in June will continue to be active, with more thunderstorms expected late Friday afternoon and night.

The National Weather Service in Dodge City is warning of another bout with Mother Nature late Friday and into the evening.

A cold front is expected to push in from the west across western Kansas today, bringing with it the potential for severe thunderstorms. The NWS is predicting large hail — up to tennis ball-sized — and damaging winds, as well as the possibility of tornadoes.

The front is also expected to bring another drink to the area, with more than an inch of rainfall predicted. The NWS also said localized flooding could be possible, as well.

The weekend looks to be clear, with sunny skies and highs in the 90s on Saturday and Sunday.
