The Ellis American Legion baseball team split their first two games of a tournament in Garden City, losing to Columbine, Colorado 7-6 then beating Dodge City 6-5.

Easton Smith takes the loss in the opener with Cole Pfeifer going 2-for-3 at the plate. Will Crabill gets the complete game win in the second game. Scott Pfeifer led the way going 2-4 with a triple.

Ellis plays Colby at 4 pm Saturday to end pool play.
