Two hospitalized after Saturday night semi-truck crash

Screen Shot 2014-05-20 at 9.53.00 AMDODGE CITY- Two people were injure in a crash with a semi-truck just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday in Ford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1989 Mazda pickup driven by Glen O. Wentling, 78, Dodge City was southbound on 110 Road one mile west of the U.S. 56 and U.S. 283 Junction.

The pickup failed to yield to a semi-truck that was traveling westbound on U.S. 56. The semi struck the Mazda on the driver’s side.

Wentling and a passenger in the pickup Evelyn Wentling, 78, Dodge City were transported to Western Plains Medical Center. She was later transferred to St. Francis in Wichita.

The semi-truck driver was Wisconsin was not injured.
The KHP reported Glen Wentling was not wearing a seat belt.
