RUSSELL — The next exhibit at the Deines Cultural Center, “Layers,” features paintings, drawings, ceramics, and mixed media pieces from artist Nancy Flax.

“This group of work belongs primarily to the layer of beliefs, thoughts, and ideas….I have a strong love for God and recognize that we live in a world chuck-full of gifts that we are responsible to take care of for the survival of life as we know it. We are part of nature and nature is part of us, we are inevitably linked. The health and viability of our world is our health and viability.”

Layers opens Friday, July 18 with reception from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibition will be on display through Aug. 15.
