The media’s Big 12 football preseason poll is out and Kansas State is picked finish third and Kansas 10th. Oklahoma is the media pick to the win conference title, just ahead of last year’s champ Baylor.
The third place pick is the Wildcats highest since the conference went to full round robin play in 2011. KSU picked up 377 points in the poll and ranks just ahead of Texas, which collected 376 points.
Oklahoma garnered 47-of-56 first-place votes and 548 total points to top the preseason rankings, while defending Big 12 champion Baylor received the other nine first-place nods and accumulated 508 points to place second.
Kansas mustered just 63 points, well behind ninth-place Iowa State who had 121.
