Jeffrey Jay “Jeff” Bunker, 52, Hays, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Hays.

He was born June 28, 1962 in Hays, KS the son of Clyde L. and Melanie M. (Deutscher) Bunker. He was a chef in numerous restaurants in Hays including Smoky Hill Country Club, Hays American Legion, and the Hays VFW. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hays and a graduate of Hays High School. He attended Fort Hays State University, enjoyed fishing, reading, coin collecting, and was an animal lover, especially his dog Jeffrey.

Survivors include three sisters, Carolyn Murphy and husband Lonnie, Shirley Rohleder and husband Kenneth, and Becky Graver and husband Robin, all of Hays, nephews David Murphy and Tanner Graver, nieces Heidi Rohleder, Wendy Rohleder-Sook, Marcie Rohleder, and Diana Murphy, great nephews Blake Graver, Marshall Sook, and Kasen Zorn, and great nieces Jayde Jantzen and Chelsie Graver. He is also survived by many Aunts and Uncles and his beloved dog, Jeffrey.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be at 6:00 pm on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, with Rev. Jerre Nolte officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Mt. Allen Cemetery, Hays. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until service time on Monday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested in Jeff’s memory to a charity to be designated later. Condolences may be left for the family at www.haysmemorial.com.
