LAWRENCE- A Kansas woman was injured in an accident at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday in Douglas County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Ford Taurus driven by Melissa Ann Monroe, 37, Lawrence, was traveling north on U.S. 40 at Interstate 70.

The vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway, struck a bridge pillar, rolled and landed on its side.

Monroe was transported to the hospital in Topeka.

The KHP reported she was properly restrained at the time of the accident.
