Authorities: 4-year-old injured in Kansas crash (UPDATE)

KHP  Kansas Highway PatrolWICHITA (AP) — A 4-year-old boy has been critically injured after being ejected from a SUV rollover near Wichita.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the accident happened Sunday morning on Interstate 35. The SUV blew a tire before the driver veered into a ditch and the vehicle rolled.

Patrol trooper Davone Brame told the Wichita Eagle the boy’s five-point harness was not completely buckled and it appeared the boy had partially unbuckled the harness.

The boy was taken to an area hospital and is in critical condition.

A 52-year-old man was also hospitalized. The severity of his injuries is unknown. A 44-year-old woman driving the vehicle wasn’t injured.

All three are from Houston.
