WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer’s August trade mission to China has been postponed.
Brewer and his delegation had been scheduled to visit a half-dozen Chinese cities in 12 days this month. It’s now scheduled for nine days beginning Nov. 8, with visits planned to five cities.
Wichita officials said in a news release the delay results from feedback from interested Kansas businesses and Chinese trade partners, who said the November schedule would be more effective.
The mission will have a heavy emphasis on aviation business relationships. The delegation’s first stop will be in Zhuhai, to coincide with China’s largest airshow.
