Voter turnout less than 18% in Ellis County

Voter turnout in Ellis County for Tuesday’s primary election was 17.43 percent. County Clerk Donna Maskus was “hoping for 20 percent.”

Of the 17,667 total Ellis County registered voters, 3,079 people cast ballots.

More Republicans voted than Democrats–73 percent and 26 percent. The results are unofficial until canvassed by the Ellis County Commission Monday morning.
