DORRANCE, Kan- A teenage driver was injured in an accident just after 4 p.m. on Thursday in Ellsworth County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1998 Honda Civic driven by Thomas E. Shavers, 18, Gardner, was eastbound on Interstate 70 two miles east of Kansas 232.

The Honda changed lanes due to a 2011 Chevy Camaro coming up behind to pass.

The Honda driver overcorrected and struck the Camaro as it passed.

The Honda entered the median, struck an embankment and rolled.

Gardner was transported to Ellsworth County Medical Center.

The driver and a passenger in the Camaro were not injured.

The KHP reported all were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
