BEL AIRE, Kan. (AP) — A worker has died after being critically injured in an accident at a construction site in the Wichita area.

The Wichita Eagle reports that 40-year-old Benjamin Gomez died Friday at a Wichita hospital from injuries he sustained in the accident on July 31 in Bel Aire.

Bel Aire Police Chief Darrell Atteberry says Gomez was injured in an accident at the site of an apartment complex under construction.

Atteberry says the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
