After unveiling his re-election platform earlier this week, Gov. Sam Brownback will stump in Hays on Thursday afternoon.

The governor is scheduled to speak at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at a Hoffman Farms demonstration field located 1 mile east of Toulon Road on Old U.S. 40 and 300th.

Brownback, who cruised to an easy primary victory earlier this month, is facing a general election challenge from Democratic candidate Paul Davis.

Brownback will appear with Commerce Secretary Pat George and Agriculture Secretary Jackie McClaskey, and will appear with Bill and Jody Hoffman of Hoffman Farms;  Jed Simpson, Jay Simpson and Ryan Flax from Simpson Farm Enterprises; and Brenden Wirth of the Kansas Farm Bureau.

The event, which is open to the public, will highlight the importance of agriculture an ag-related businesses on the Kansas economy.
