Kansas man hospitalized after car hits semi’s trailer

Screen Shot 2014-07-03 at 5.13.15 AMGREENWOOD COUNTY- A Kansas man was hospitalized after an accident just before 3:30 p.m. on Thursday in Greenwood County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1995 Honda passenger car driven by David Thomas Williams, 51, Howard, was westbound on U.S. 400 at the rest area near the Greenwood-Butler County line.

The Honda failed to yield at the stop sign and struck the rear driver’s side of the trailer on a 2013 Freightliner semi driven by Kenneth James Hibbm, 61, Ottawa.

Williams was transported to Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Hibbm was not injured.

The KHP reported both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
